Brailles story
This is what we know about Braille. A young lady who brought him in to Humane Society SW Michigan said she found him by the corner of their street. The staff carefully and lovingly cared for Braille. He acted as if he hadn't eaten for a bit as well. MDRC was alerted that a blind puppy was in a shelter, so we immediately reached out. HSSWM was amazing to work with. They are a very caring group of people and were so happy Braille would get training and vet care.
MDRC works to provide a safe loving place for dogs with special needs that are able to be rehabilitated so they can live a long happy life in their new home. One day the vision would be to have a place for dogs who are not adoptable due to health reasons or needs.
Braille is getting lots of training and education to help him be independent. Confidence is the biggest hurdle but he is learning so fast.
If you have a blind or special needs puppy, please reach out to shelters or rescues. Don’t place them on a corner hoping they are found.
Braille could have been hit by a car or worse.
Braille will see Dr. Ramsey -The Animal Ophthalmology in October for his eyes. We don’t want to miss anything. Donations for his care, training and appointments are appreciated.

Please avoid any negative comments. We will remove you from the page. We know how you feel and get it but right now we need positive energy. Thank you.
Braille is getting his page on our website tomorrow so you’ll be able to check in.

Braille was able to get a bath! He was neutered last week (August 15) and wanted to be sure he was healed before giving him a big bath. He did amazing. A little discombobulated at first but finally settled down. Because he has a longer coat, we are going to continue brushing every day and bathing once a week.
He is growing so fast and we are impressed with his weight gain. He arrived on the thin side. The shelter noted that he needed to gain some weight.
